Dolphin Telecom Group Participates in West AfricaCom

July, 2018 | Dolphin Telecom

The theme for this year’s West Africa Com was “Connecting West Africa to the new digital market”. West Africa Com is an annual event that unites the West African Francophone and Anglophone Technology, Media and Telecoms Markets. The focus of the event was on how the Teleco value chain can leverage its assets to deliver low-cost broadband connectivity and digital services to the consumers and enterprises of West Africa.

Dolphin participation this year was taken to the next level – signifying our enhanced presence in Africa, our new Regional and Global reach through our network extensions and with partners.

The conference offered an opportunity to network, do business and discuss industry challenges/opportunities for the telecoms sector in West Africa in particular. It brought together most of the players in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector not only from Africa but Europe and North America.

Dolphin showed cased its recently launched “Africa Connect Service” connecting our main cable landing stations in Senegal, Ghana and Nigeria to the rest of the ACE Cable stations in Africa with a “Pay-As-You-Grow” model. Our anchor client is a Pan African Bank using the Africa Connect service to eight African countries.

This event played a vital role in the promotion of the Dolphin Group.

Key areas of promotion:

  • Awareness as a strategy
  • Strength as a business
  • Coverage and landing areas
  • Partnership with other ICT oriented companies
  • Improved products and services
  • Diversification
  • Network Resilience

Dolphin’s presence this year was more significant – being listed on sponsorship material and having our presence in marketing right at the front with the event organizers this drew a lot more interests in the group.

There were several high-level meetings with Government Agencies (Senegal), International Operators (Telxius, PCCW, Tigo) and partners (AFR-IX, ISOCEL).
