December 25, 2018 | Haggar CSI Division

Haggar scholars, Ms. Abrar Mohamed currently studying for her International Baccalaureate in UWC and Ms. Sumaya Elmahdi studying the same in ALA completed their first terms with flourishing success. Both students excelled academically and demonstrated great leadership potential.

Abrar’s advisor described her as “A student who has already achieved some very encouraging results.  Abrar made positive contributions to her activities and services, showing regular attendance and a cooperative spirit.”

As for Sumaya, she was referred to as “A selfless leader of quick wit and sharp intellect”.

Her advisor confirmed that the school is excited to see her expand her positive influence in the school’s community.  In 2013, Haggar Group signed an agreement with UWC to fund a two-year scholarship biennially for a high-performing student from Sudan. This Scholarship is conditional based on UWC funding a South Sudanese student for every Sudanese student that the Haggar Group would fund. In September 2018, Haggar signed another agreement with ALA to sponsor a Sudanese student for a two-year scholarship at the academy.
