Haggar Group in collaboration with Agricultural Technology Transfer Society implemented biogas project as clean energy alternatives for the rural poor at West Kordofan state. The project implemented 200 biodigesters at Abu Khamas village, North Kordofan State. Haggar has provided funds for ten units for use of ten household daily cooking and lighting activities.

The project got registered under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the UNFCCC and passed all monitoring, audit and verification processes. Training and public consultation sessions were the main awareness tools used to disseminate the technology among villagers.
