SEDCO (Sanctuary Estate Development Company), a real estate company managing a diverse portfolio of properties including fully furnished residential flats, successfully completed the installation of a renewable energy (solar) system at its Juba, South Sudan compound in 2025. This initiative marks a significant step in SEDCO’s commitment to sustainability, transitioning the facility to a clean energy model and substantially reducing reliance on diesel generators and the national grid. A 500 KWp solar photovoltaic system was installed, comprising 825 high-efficiency panels paired with 1,290 kWh of liquid-cooled batteries. The system now provides reliable electricity throughout the day and night, covering fully the compound’s energy needs and reducing its carbon footprint.

To ensure operational efficiency and resilience, only two generators: a 250 kVA and a 155 kVA unit, remain in use for backup. These have been synchronized to optimize fuel consumption, support solar integration, and maintain uninterrupted power supply when needed. The liquid-cooled battery technology enhances system longevity and performance compared to conventional air-cooled alternatives.

Alongside the solar installation, energy efficiency measures were implemented across the compound. HVAC units and solar water heaters were optimized with occupancy-based temperature control, and solar energy is now maximally utilized for daytime water heating, reducing nighttime electricity demand. Nighttime autonomy is fully supported by the battery system, minimizing the need for generator operation and further reducing energy costs and emissions.

Through this project, SEDCO has demonstrated leadership in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices by successfully replacing diesel and grid power with a reliable, low-carbon energy system. The initiative has delivered tangible benefits in energy efficiency, operational resilience, and environmental sustainability, setting a strong example of responsible property management and renewable energy adoption in the region.

In 2025, Haggar DMCC continued the strategic expansion of the Pasgianos franchise model to meet growing consumer demand in Egypt. Kosh Trading Limited was appointed as the exclusive franchisor for Egypt and Sudan, with its headquarters located in Cairo. Under this mandate, Kosh is responsible for the bottling and distribution of the full range of Pasgianos products across multiple cities in both Egypt and Sudan.

As part of its broader strategy to expand into agro-allied industries across Africa, Haggar DMCC invested in Charis UAS SPV. Charis UAS leverages AI-powered autonomous vehicles to deliver near real-time, easily accessible 3D geospatial data analytics, addressing some of Africa’s most pressing challenges. With a core focus on agri-tech and a strong value proposition, this investment represents a significant step toward strengthening Haggar’s presence in the agricultural technology subsector across the continent.

Following a turbulent period after the outbreak of conflict in Sudan, Sudasat faced operational disruptions due to inaccessibility of its hub, which was located in a conflict-affected area of Khartoum. In 2025, access to the site was successfully regained, marking a turning point for the company. Reaffirming its unwavering commitment to delivering reliable telecommunication solutions to the people of Sudan, Sudasat signed an (MoU) with Arabsat targeting resuming operations before the end of 2025.
