Charis UAS, Rwanda’s leading and first licensed drone company, continues to expand its work in delivering high-quality UAV and data solutions tailored to customer needs. The company specializes in understanding client requirements and integrating the right sensors, UAV systems, and data solutions to deliver reliable services. These include UAS consulting, UAV building and system integration, pilot and safety training, maintenance of UAVs, and other related services. In 2024, Haggar Group invested in Charis to support its expansion into new services and geographical markets.
Building on this progress, Charis has recently secured a number of new partnerships and awards. The company signed a $2.9 million three-year contract with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to support malaria eradication efforts, with potential for further expansion. In addition, Charis secured a $150,000 contract with GIZ to expand malaria Larval Source Management (LSM) activities across additional districts.
Charis has also entered into a strategic partnership with BK TechHouse, providing access to a network of more than three million farmers and opening new opportunities for the deployment of agricultural technology solutions.
In recognition of its innovation, the company won the AgriTech Challenge organized by the Rwanda Green Fund, which provides access to up to FRW 300 million in recoverable grant funding planned for 2026. Charis was also awarded a €100,000 non-recoverable grant under the develoPPP initiative to support a new programme starting in 2026.
These developments reflect the growing demand for Charis’ drone-enabled solutions and support the company’s continued expansion in areas such as public health, agriculture, and environmental monitoring
